Abhishek Bachan for Motorola, Hritik Roshan for Sony, the leader of cell phones in India, Nokia (quantitatively, definitely not qualitatively) has finally woken up and decided to take a superstar as its brand ambassador. Hopefully with SRK coming Nokia will churn out cell phones with more quality than the ones they churn out now. With SRK now as the face of Nokia can we atleast see a Nokia phone with “real flash” and some real quality it so greatly lacks currently?
To connect with its consumers, Nokia India, the leader in the mobile telecommunications, has tied up with Shah Rukh Khan (SRK), the king of Bollywood, for a new brand campaign. As a; part of this association, Nokia has launched a TVC directed by well-known ad and feature film maker, Pradeep Sarkar. The TV campaign would later be integrated with other consumer touch points like print, outdoor, radio, online and digital media.
Sharing the rationale for choosing SRK for this the association, Mr. Devinder Kishore, Director Marketing, Nokia India said, “We are extremely pleased to have Shah Rukh Khan on board for our new brand campaign. There is a complete synergy between the Nokia brand and personification of the Shah Rukh brand – both have a youth connect, are trendy, technology savvy and most importantly symbolize trust. We believe this is the perfect coming together of the two leading brands in entertainment and mobility.â€
Speaking on the occasion, Shah Rukh Khan said, “Nokia’s very human technology has made it simpler for people to stay connected – with each other and to their passions. I have been a Nokia user for more than a decade and have used various handsets over the years. I am absolutely delighted to work with a brand that I admire.â€
Sharing the creative thought behind the TVC, Pradeep Sarkar, said, “The brief to me was to showcase Nokia as a friend and a soulmate. I have woven in elements of warmth, endurance and genuineness in the TVC that best describe the personalities of both Nokia and Shah Rukh.â€
