Mediaport Selects IBM Kiosk Services to Deliver Music, Ringtones, Software and Games

SALT LAKE CITY, UT –IBM has signed an agreement with Mediaport
Entertainment, Inc. to provide IT services, maintenance, and financing for
an international retail kiosk rollout that delivers digital content to
consumers.
Mediaport is currently deploying its MediaATMT kiosks at Sanity Music and
Virgin Music Entertainment retail stores in Australia and New Zealand,
totaling 1,000 kiosks over the next two years.

Consumers can burn customized CDs or rapidly download any digital product to
a USB, Bluetooth enabled, or MP3 device. Mediaport’s robust content catalog
features thousands of albums from Warner Music Group, EMI Music, Sony BMG
Music Entertainment, Universal Music International, among others; games;
videos; DVDs; e-books; ringtones; and software.

Brazin Ltd., the parent company for Sanity Music and Virgin Music
Entertainment, will lease the kiosks through IBM Global Financing; IBM
Information Technology Services will also provide ongoing warranty
maintenance for these store installations.

“IBM is helping us deliver the most profitable square footage within a
retailer’s environment,” said Mediaport Chief Executive Officer Helen
Seltzer. “Retailers know and trust IBM. Together, we’re pioneering a
store-within-a-store model that brings digital content to consumers
on-the-go.”

For future retail deployments, Mediaport has also contracted with IBM Global
Services to build 500 MediaATM kiosks. Mediaport’s patent-protected
software suite and its extensive catalog of digital products will be
combined with IBM IntelliStation workstations to form the unmanned
point-of-sale kiosks.

The POWER5 microprocessor-based hardware supports Mediaport’s high
performance requirements for a minimum of one terabyte of digital content in
a convenient, self-service environment. POWER5 defies historic focus on
clock speed for performance by integrating multiple microprocessor cores in
silicon with key elements of memory and task management
