Your customers and prospects are not all the same yet many businesses market to them all as if they were all alike. Some are young; others are old. Some are wealthy; others are poor. Some have lots of children; others are childless. Some buy your products and services frequently; others purchase rarely. Some buy a broad spectrum of the things you sell; others just purchase a limited selection. Some have high potential for purchasing more from you; others have no additional potential. Obviously they are not the same so, if you want to gain a higher return on your marketing investment, don’t treat them the same. Segment them and market differently to each segment. Read more

GVK Biosciences (GVK BIO) today announced that it has signed a material transfer agreement with the Genomics group of the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) to share information from its Clinical Biomarker Database.

The Genomics group at the FDA will use the database in its VGDS (Voluntary Genomics Data Submission program) as well as in its internal research. GVK BIO will use the feedback from the FDA to further optimize the content and capabilities of the database to meet Reviewers' needs. Currently, the GVK BIO database contains over 278 different fields for clinically reported biomarkers captured from the published literature. Data ranging from clinical to the preclinical stage has been captured. The database may be useful for design, validation and as a knowledgebase of studies where biomarkers were reported. Read more

Canaan Partners, a major international venture capital firm, today announced that it has led the first round of institutional funding in techTribe, India’s Career Networking portal. The investment will be used to expand techTribe’s sales and marketing infrastructure in India and to drive revenue growth. Under this partnership, Alok Mittal, Canaan's Managing Director in India, will be named to the techTribe board of directors. The funding amount hasn't been disclosed but market anaylsts put it anywhere between $5 to $7 million. Read more
