IBM today introduced a new software technology from its research labs - Secure Hypervisor Architecture or “sHype,” designed to greatly enhance security and management capabilities in virtualized data centers. The technology will run in conjunction with commercial and open source hypervisors (virtualization managers) that control servers and data in a shared environment. sHype will provide a security wrapper around the distributed systems and extend mainframe-like security to data across multiple IBM and non-IBM systems. The new advancement is the industry’s first effort to embed trusted computing technologies directly into the virtualization and management software tools already used inside data centers. Read more

NASSCOM, the premier trade body and voice of the software and services industry in India and The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) today announced that they are conducting a joint study titled ‘Developing an Innovation Ecosystem in the Indian IT Industry’. The study is aimed at addressing some gaps that exist in the Indian ecosystem for making innovation flourish and realize its true potential. A series of workshops and roundtables involving stakeholders of an Indian innovation ecosystem are being conducted during the course of the study to iterate findings and take inputs from the various stakeholders before publishing the final set of recommendations.
