IBM today introduced a new software technology from its research labs - Secure Hypervisor Architecture or “sHype,” designed to greatly enhance security and management capabilities in virtualized data centers. The technology will run in conjunction with commercial and open source hypervisors (virtualization managers) that control servers and data in a shared environment. sHype will provide a security wrapper around the distributed systems and extend mainframe-like security to data across multiple IBM and non-IBM systems.
