Fairfax Country, V.A, United States and Karnataka, India, Saturday,
February 25, 2006 — (Business Wire India) — From March 1 to March 3,
President Bush will visit India and will discuss the impact of
economic growth through free trade. The Fairfax County Economic
Development Authority (www.FairfaxCountyEDA.org) opened an office in
Bangalore, India, in summer 2004 to work with Indian technology
companies interested in expanding into the United States. Fairfax
County, in northern Virginia just outside Washington, D.C., is the
first U.S. County to open a marketing office in India.

Two representatives are available for interviews about Fairfax
County’s efforts to attract investment from India.

Prasad Tagat directs Fairfax County’s operation in Bangalore, which is
the center of India’s technology industry. Tagat has more than 20
years experience working in India, Europe and the U.S.

Dr. Gerald Gordon is president and CEO of the FCEDA. He has been
instrumental in implementing the efforts to promote Fairfax County in
important overseas markets with companies interested in expanding into
the U.S. In addition to Bangalore, Fairfax County has investment
representatives in Frankfurt, London, Seoul and Tel Aviv.

Fairfax County has 4,900 technology companies, six Fortune 500
companies, and offers proximity to the federal government for
companies looking to secure government contracts and funding. In 2004
companies in Fairfax County received almost $11.5 billion in
procurement dollars, a higher level of procurement activity than
neighboring suburban Maryland or the District of Columbia.

Fourteen Indian firms, mostly information technology firms, have
offices in Fairfax County.
